About Me

Over the past decade, I've reported on the rise of vegan food in New Orleans, "exotic meat" in New York City, an oyster farm in South Carolina, midterm elections in Connecticut, chamber music in the deserts of Moab, the Gulf South Green New Deal, an intentional living community that doubles as an innovative PTSD treatment, New Orleans's zoning regulations, cannabis's effect on the brain, and Joan Didion's effect on my own brain.

My writing has appeared in Outside Magazine, The Washington Post, The Believer, Insider, The New Orleans Advocate, and more. In 2017, I hosted OffBeat Magazine's music news radio show, aired on WHIV in New Orleans. From December 2022-October 2024, I was the Managing Editor at Fifty Grande, an award-winning music and travel magazine.

In May 2022, I graduated from New York University with a Masters of Fine Arts in Literary Reportage. For my MFA thesis, I used a mix of memoir and reportage to examine the interpersonal costs of the United States's culture of consumption. Or, as my thesis advisor preferred for me to say, I wrote about my relationship with my mother. A book-length version is underway.
